Description

We are hiring a Public Space Attendant

The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appearance of all public areas throughout the hotel. This includes the lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting spaces, and other guest-facing areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and takes pride in providing a spotless and welcoming environment for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, fitness center, and pool deck (if applicable).

  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners regularly throughout the shift.

  • Dust and polish furniture, surfaces, railings, light fixtures, and signage.

  • Vacuum carpets and clean floors (including mopping, sweeping, and spot-cleaning as needed).

  • Ensure all public restrooms are clean, stocked, and presentable at all times.

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of entranceways and exterior sidewalks as needed.

  • Report any maintenance issues, broken items, or safety concerns to engineering or management promptly.

  • Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests and needs while on shift.

  • Maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies and inform supervisor when replenishment is needed.

  • Follow all Hilton brand cleanliness and sanitation protocols, especially in high-touch areas.

  • Support housekeeping and front desk teams as needed for special events or high-traffic periods.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a related field preferred.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation.

  • Ability to work independently and follow a structured cleaning schedule.

  • Must be able to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment usage.

  • Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.

Ideally located on Mayo Clinic campus in Jacksonville, Florida, this 252 room Hilton Jacksonville Mayo Clinic Hotel, offers high-end hotel accommodation to further enhance patients’ experience when traveling to the campus for care. Guests will have access to amenities such as a fitness center, on-site restaurant with room service and an outdoor pool. The hotel will have 16,000 square feet of meeting space, including a main ballroom that can be divided into five spaces, a smaller ballroom that splits into two spaces and three additional meeting rooms, and 5,000 square feet of outdoor patio space. The hotel aims to provide a premier hospitality experience for those visiting the Mayo Clinic, making it a convenient and luxurious option for patients and their families.
