Description

The Loss Prevention Supervisor oversees and implements loss prevention strategies to protect company assets, maintain a safe environment for guests and employees, and reduce internal and external theft. They supervise a team of loss prevention associates, ensure compliance with security protocols, and collaborate with other departments to mitigate risks. The candidate will support the Loss Prevention Manager in overseeing the safety and security operations at the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink

1. Supervision and Leadership:

   • Lead and manage a team of loss prevention associates or officers.
   • Provide training, coaching, and development to staff on loss prevention techniques and safety measures.
   • Ensure the team is following all security protocols and company policies.

2. Loss Prevention Strategy Implementation:

   • Develop and execute loss prevention programs to reduce shrinkage, theft, and fraud.
   • Implement physical security measures, such as cameras and alarms, and ensure they are functioning properly.
   • Conduct audits and reviews of security procedures to identify vulnerabilities.

3. Incident Investigation:

   • Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or other forms of loss.
   • Work with local law enforcement when necessary to report and resolve criminal activities.
   • Prepare reports and documentation related to loss incidents, including witness statements, video footage, and evidence.

4. Collaboration with Management:

   • Collaborate with other department heads (e.g., HR, operations) to address loss prevention concerns.
   • Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management regarding loss prevention efforts and outcomes.

5. Safety and Emergency Response:

   • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols, conducting regular safety inspections.
   • Oversee emergency response procedures and drills to prepare for incidents such as fires, natural disasters, or active threats.
   • Provide guidance to staff and customers during emergencies.

6. Data Analysis:

   • Analyze data related to inventory shrinkage, theft patterns, and other loss trends.
   • Use data to adjust loss prevention strategies and mitigate risks.
   • Prepare and present reports to management on loss statistics and preventative measures.

7. Asset Protection:

   • Monitor store or facility entrances, exits, and high-risk areas to deter theft.
   • Conduct internal audits to identify inventory discrepancies and investigate suspicious activities.
   • Ensure proper use of security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and electronic article surveillance (EAS).

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of loss prevention techniques, investigations, and security systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-stress situations.
• Familiarity with local laws and regulations regarding theft and security.

• Ability to stand or walk for long periods, patrol property, and monitor high-traffic areas.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.
