OUR ROLE
Reporting to the Area Human Resources Director (AHRD), the Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day needs of the hotel and its Associates, ensuring the highest level of service excellence. The ideal candidate will be proficient in recruitment, onboarding and orientation, payroll administration and other HR generalist activities, plus must love to have FUN!
Key accountabilities include:
Consistently deliver exceptional service to all Associates, setting a positive example for everyone to follow.
Address all internal and external inquiries promptly, professionally, and with clear, effective communication.
Complete biweekly payroll processing functions.
Monitor compliance with established policies and procedures.
Act in concert with the AHRD to ensure consistent practices, philosophies and messaging.
Ensure the proper recruiting, interviewing, reference checking, and hiring procedures are followed.
Maintain accurate associate records including personal data, tax information, performance reviews, accrued benefits, wage, and salary information.
Administer Associate insurance and benefit programs.
Assure timely processing of claims for unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
Monitor use of performance appraisal programs and ensure consistent, and appropriate use of the program, conforming to deadlines.
Complete orientation program and onboarding for all Associates.
Counsel with Associates; ensuring compliance with Concord Hospitality Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door Policy.
Conduct exit interviews for all terminated associates.
Assist in overseeing Associate Relations Programs (Associate annual events, recognition programs, etc.).
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all Associates.
Assist guests, when applicable, provide the highest level of service and friendliness.
Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives.
Participate in committees, focus group meetings and departmental meetings as requested.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper business attire and name tag when working.
Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient practices.
Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
YOUR STORY
A seasoned professional with a minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership Human Resources role, preferably in a hospitality or tourism environment, such as a hotel.
Some who likes to have FUN and engage with all Associates in a positive manner.
A post-secondary education in Human Resources.
Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to Safety.
Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment and the ability to use discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality, ethics and company standards.
Excellent organizational, follow-through and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
Extremely adept at listening to understand, displaying empathy and clarifying any concerns raised to ensure service excellence.
An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.
Great working knowledge of Alberta Labour Standards, Privacy Laws, WCB, and Canadian labour laws and regulations.
Extremely strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to employee privacy and discretion.
Someone with a keen eye for detail.
An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who values teamwork and collaboration.
Someone who safeguards proprietary information and ensures the protection of company assets.
Physically able to stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time.
Physically able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
