WHO are we looking for, you may ask?
Reporting to the Area Director of Sales, we are in search of a dynamic Sales & Events Specialist who is responsible for supporting and assisting the Sales and Catering department in managing and maintaining corporate, group and catering business. The ideal candidate will have a keen ability to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction and support to external clients and internal partners, serving as liaison between the Sales and Catering team members, Events Management, and other departments at the hotel.
Key accountabilities include:
- Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike, setting a shining example for our team.
- Be one of the first points of contact for incoming leads and inquiries, and respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers. Endeavor to deliver clear and concise communiqué via all avenues of communication.
- Support the hotel Sales Manager and Area Sales Managers, when required, by preparing proposals and contracts, and completing essential administrative tasks related to booking events and groups.
- Serve as liaison between clients and the F&B team for events booked in the event spaces.
- Demonstrate excellent time management, self-motivation and proactive planning, and endeavor to be organizationally savvy with a sharp focus on detail.
- Work diligently to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities (i.e. including but not limited to assisting with or the management of room blocks, select reporting, client notification of key dates such as cut-off or payment schedule deadlines, group resumes, event orders and BEO’s, billing details, and other integral administrative aspects of the booking or execution of groups and events).
- Complete or assist with various aspects of pre-event, main event, and post-event details: Track, detail, and communicate with internal partners and external clients about the particulars of each assigned event and group.
- As needed, gain knowledge of hotel’s food and beverage products, pricing, presentation, and learn about the hotel’s function space, audio visual, and any other details related to group and event success.
- Learn and use digital sales systems and conceptual sales processes (i.e. Delphi, CI/TY, PMS, sales call process, etc.) and understand the hotel’s sales strategies (i.e. rates, fees, budgeted goals, etc.). Implement these tools and resources in order to accomplish individual and team goals and efficiently complete job duties.
- Prepared for, participate in, and report out at all necessary internal meetings, conference calls, reporting, planning, training, and other communications required for this position.
WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, ARE YOU …
- A seasoned professional with a minimum of one year of experience supporting a sales team, preferably in a hospitality, tourism or hotel environment.
- A Hospitality or Tourism program graduate or degree holder.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, and a strong commitment to Safety.
- Resilient and positive with a results-oriented mentality, passionate about achieving goals through planning and accomplishing targeted activities and business objectives.
- An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.
- Agile, and able to shift priorities as needed.
- Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who values teamwork and collaboration.
- Physically able to stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time.
