Our rooftop restaurant is nestled atop the 12th floor in Calgary’s vibrant west-end, overlooking the majestic Bow River. Bow & Bend brings the outdoors in of this signature 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar. At its core are the finest culinarians and mixologists eagerly waiting to fulfil our customers’ dreams of an indulgent and refined dining experience. ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We are in search of an engaging and inspirational Restaurant General Manager, responsible for driving the vision, culture and success of Bow & Bend. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of enthusiasm and collaboration, with a keen ability to build and maintain a team of top performers, ensuring the highest level of service excellence, food creativity & quality, with a keen eye on driving profitability.
Primary accountabilities include:
- Consistently providing the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our team.
- Leading and maintaining operations by preparing standard operating procedures, implementing production, productivity, quality and guest service standards, determining and initiating improvements as necessary.
- Monitoring customer satisfaction, auditing food, beverage and service offerings, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Ensuring the highest level of staff satisfaction through selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, counselling, developing, recognizing and rewarding our staff.
- Accomplishing all company financial goals by accepting ownership of restaurant results, with strategic forecasting and financial analysis, initiating corrective actions, establishing and monitoring financial controls, exploring opportunities to add value to all stakeholders whilst developing and implementing strategies to increase overall restaurant profitability.
- Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the industry, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking best practices, and participating in community events.
ABOUT YOU
- A seasoned professional with a minimum of three years’ experience leading a large, upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city centre.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanour, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Someone who has solid leadership skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team of culinary professionals.
- An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot, resolve situations efficiently, with the ability to shift priorities as needed, including handling customer or staff situations that may occur outside of typical work hours.
- Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
- Able to combine strategic planning and day-to-day management.
- Physically able to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
