We are hiring a Director of Sales.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales (DOS) to lead the sales strategy for our upscale, recently renovated hotel – Downright Austin, a Renaissance Hotel. Located near the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol, this 367-room property features over 40,000 square feet of versatile event space, offering an ideal setting for meetings, conferences, and social gatherings.

As the DOS, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by leading a high-performing sales team, cultivating strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and executing strategic sales and marketing plans. We are looking for a sales leader with a full-service hotel background, a passion for coaching and mentoring teams, and a keen ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop the sales and marketing team to exceed revenue targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, local businesses, university contacts, and hotel ownership.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies to attract group, corporate, leisure, and catering business.
• Cultivating Business Travel relationships.
• Analyze market trends, performance data, and competitor insights to identify opportunities for growth.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase brand awareness.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven track record of coaching and mentoring sales teams in full-service hotels.
• Prior Marriott sales management experience.
• Strong business development skills with the ability to close deals and drive performance.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Salary Range: $124,519 - $155,199
