WHO are we looking for, you may ask?
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, we are in search of a dynamic Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for keeping all equipment in good working order with routine repairs and preventative maintenance checks. The ideal candidate will take pride in assisting others on the team including the Chief Engineer, with day-to-day maintenance of the building and grounds, ensuring a safe environment for our guests and associates by meeting all safety standards, and providing professional, courteous service to our guests, according to brand and company standards.
Key accountabilities include:
- Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike, setting a shining example for our team.
- Deal promptly and effectively with guest needs and requests.
- Analyze situations, identify courses of action, and implement solutions with available resources to the highest degree of quality.
- Repair all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners and cosmetic items.
- Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
- Monitor systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the systems operations and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
- Have a working knowledge of fire, sprinkler and emergency power systems.
- Observe and analyze energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds.
- Look for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to the Chief Engineer.
- Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
- Continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
- Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
- Maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and ensure this information is passed on to other shifts.
WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, ARE YOU …
- An experienced professional with a minimum of one year of experience, preferably in a similar sized hotel property.
- A 5th or 4th Class Power Engineer.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, and a strong commitment to Safety.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in common mechanical building equipment, food service equipment and general building maintenance.
- An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.
- Agile, able to shift priorities as needed, including handling guest or associate situations that may suddenly occur.
- Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- An excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
- Someone who understands and adheres to Health & Safety regulations, laws and protocols at all times.
- Someone with good knowledge of plumbing practices, painting, drywalling and basic carpentry.
- Physically able to frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds or more.
