Situated directly on the waterfront, The Ben – West Palm will feature a rooftop ocean view ballroom showcasing the marina as well as unobstructed views of Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Hosting events up to 500, this divisible space with pre-function area provides what other downtown West Palm Beach hotels cannot. Additionally The Ben will feature a first floor executive boardroom as well as our unique FLEX space – a perfectly designed space that will give the ultimate out-of-the-box options to sell events at that will be purposeful, memorable and inspiring.  Providing a ‘garage door styled’ side entry, the FLEX space area gives a multitude of options for the creative event planner!  The hotel will have 208 well-appointed guest rooms with options such as balconies and extended floorplans.  A first floor dining room serving three meals daily, a welcoming library plus a rooftop lounge and swimming pool with private cabanas make The Ben a true destination.

Our name, The Ben, derives from Palm Beach County history dating back to the original Dewey estate named Ben Trovato meaning “a story well told or invented.”  The hotel will blend the essence of yesterday with today’s modern luxuries and promises to delight guests with unique artwork, state of art accessories and outstanding service.

The Director of Catering & Events Role:

The ideal candidate is a creative resource able to sell destination weddings, lifestyle celebrations and corporate events from menu design to decor and entertainment. The Director of Catering & Events will be responsible for strategically soliciting and developing new accounts, maintaining excellent rapport with existing accounts, and successfully promoting the hotel to the Palm Beach County community; Responsible for managing all aspects of booking meetings and catering functions to include proposals, contracts, and detailing banquet event orders. Candidate will receive all inquiry calls regarding needs to customize the event to maximize over 7,800 square feet of unique venue space The Ben will offer. Candidate will manage the delivery and measurement of guest services consistent with company standards, brand and culture. The Director of Catering & Events is also responsible for acting as a liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful meeting and to generate repeat business.  At The Ben you’ll be encouraged to do the ordinary…extraordinary!

Exemplary communication and relationship building skills are required. Proficient computer skills with Delphi or CI is preferred. Candidate must be able to develop and implement strategies with the assistance from the Director of Sales in effort to exceed budget goals and established quotas.  Opening experience is preferred.

Approximate Salary: $80,000 (based on experience)
